Scope and content

Could JCH tell WW when a person needs to be in London to attend the next term at the Middle Temple and also at Lincoln's Inn. He needs the information for a friend in Paris. Could JCH also purchase for him a ticket to see [Catalavir?] sing. WW is sorry JCH does not enjoy studying law: 'I hope you will soon have an opportunity of ...infusing good principles of taste and scholarship and if you like to call it so of philosophy, into the rising generations of academic youth' [JCH is offered and accepts the job of classical lecturer at Trinity College]. JCH should 'leave poor Locke [John Locke] at your mercy who however little deserves your abuse because he has done only what he and all other reasonable metaphysicians pretend only to do - namely give an account of the operations of his own mind and analyse them to their elements'.
