Note
It is unclear when this list was begun, but as the introductory note (f. 1) includes a reference to the Review of English Studies, it must have been after 1925, when that journal was founded. It was continued up to 1958, the entries for the last year being on a loose sheet of paper inserted in the book. The volume is a commercially-produced account book, stamped 'Cash Book' on the spine.
