States that Tuesday would be a better day for him than Monday, and that it would suit him better to begin lecturing on 18th, than to begin earlier. Intends to write to [Ely] 'to get a notice out.' Asks Sidgwick what he should say apart from '"For the Poll men"' [when he writes], Agrees to give HS his lecture notes. Discusses his plans for the lectures he is to give; 'Beginning with the Borgia Popes, I shew what a fearful place the world had [been going], and what a revolutionary epoch it was.' Intended then to give 'a historic sketch of the popes and a lecture on the Reformation.' Will let Sidgwick know shortly. Intends to go to Sandringham from Thursday to Monday, and will probably visit Cambridge on his way back. Proposes to call in on Sidgwick, to 'talk things over'.
