Mentions 'E. W'. Asks when the dinner is. Mentions that he received a note from [Madley]. Thanks Sidgwick for news, and expresses regret at Willmot's situation. Invites Sidgwick to come over on Sunday evening. In response to Sidgwick's invitation, says he cannot go then, but 'will come next year.' Expresses surprise at the news that M[ ] was going to Eton. Asks Sidgwick to take [ ]'s place at Marlborough. Asks whether Butler sent him back [ ]'s letter. Relates that Ernest [ ] 'has come home and is settled down in Yorkshire.' Refers to Sidgwick not having mentioned the [ ] [ ] of the society. Tells him that Holman Hunt's picture is worth seeing.
