Portée et contenu
Writes to express his sympathy, and that of his wife, with Nora on the death of Henry Sidgwick. Reports that they read 'a short but discriminating account' of him in the Scotsman of that day, 'which shews appreciation of the influence he has exerted on his generation.' Declares that he is glad to have known him, and refers to Henry's desire 'to do justice to both sides in all questions.' Of his conversation, claims that it had 'a flavour of interest, humour and intellect which made it delightful to talk with him on the least important subject..' Claims that he and his wife have prayed for Henry since hearing of his illness.
