Scope and content

Wallington, Cambo, Northumberland. - Very sorry that Robert 'has knocked up' [exhausted himself] and had to go north; does not like to think of Elizabeth being left behind; asks if she could go to Holland since she was talking of it earlier. Wishes they were not so far away; Robert would not like to be here with no shooting. Will give a hint to Janet about inviting Elizabeth to Stocks if they [the Wards] are settled there. Hopes 'Robert will get right soon'; if he is away longer than a fortnight Elizabeth should think about Holland, or go to join him.
