Scope and content

Wallington, Cambo, Morpeth. - The weather is fine and mild, so she hopes Elizabeth's crossing will be comfortable. Called on Mrs Anderson with Julian yesterday; she had 'an alarming number of dogs', one of which jumped on Julian, but though he was frightened he behaved very well. Sir George goes to play with him every morning after his breakfast. Hopes Elizabeth will enjoy the concert tomorrow. Annie [Philips] was very interested in Robert's last letter. Asks if Elizabeth has heard any more from him. Julian expects to hear all about his 'Dutch cousins' [the Röntgens] from Elizabeth.
