Wallington, Cambo, Morpeth. - Thanks Elizabeth very much for the photographs, which are very like; has chosen 'the graver head' and sent them to Mary with Elizabeth's message; [Julian?] looks very handsome. Hopes that Elizabeth will find a 'treasure' [for a new nanny]; thinks Miss Steel's recommendation should count; also thinks 'an educated woman' would be very nice for Elizabeth. and that as she rarely leaves him any worries about lack of knowledge of 'health management' may not matter. Told Miss Embleton her friend would not suit, so Elizabeth need not write to her. Gives further advice. [Charles and Mary's] family at Cambo seems large, and she 'cannot enjoy them in such a mass' though they seem very happy; this makes her rather sad. Promised them a picnic today, but after some 'much needed rain' it is damp and unsettled. Asks if Bob has gone north; if so fears he will have bad weather.
