Portée et contenu

Wallington, Cambo, Morpeth. - Very sorry to hear of Elizabeth's 'disappointment' [a miscarriage]; hopes she will rest properly. Putting off Julian's operation will not matter, and it is probably good to leave the Shiffolds at the end of November as it is 'so damp & misty' then; will also do her good to have time at the sea. Glad she has a nurse she likes; asks if she has 'something light & amusing to read'. Hopes Robert will let them know how she is getting on; Sir George says he has had a letter from him.
