Wallington, Cambo, Northumberland. - Very sorry to hear of Elizabeth's 'fresh trouble', which she fears 'must be painful'; hopes it will soon subside and she will be 'well enough for the operation'; was uneasy yesterday and could not think what was wrong, and was glad this morning when Booa [Mary Prestwich] set off for London knowing she would see Elizabeth soon. Glad Elizabeth had reached the [nursing] Home, as she will be treated properly there and recover more quickly; is sorry the house is noisy. Wonders where Robert is, and hopes he will be able to spend a lot of time with her. Miss Martin wrote her a note as well as Robert; wishes she could have come today; their guests have just left after two days shooting and she and Sir George are glad to be alone; she intends to travel on Monday and visit Elizabeth in the evening.
