Dear Dad,

I found the Staatsbibliothek in Hamburg to-day and went to have a look at it. It seems to have been completely destroyed. There was however an entrance in one corner which appeared to be in use, but there was a notice on the door saying “No admittance without the authority of the Military Government,’ so I will see Mil. Gov. next time I am in Hamburg & see what they know about the fate of the contents of the Library.
