Scope and content

The Master's Lodge, Trinity College, Cambridge. - Very sorry to hear about conditions at the Shiffolds during this 'dreadful winter'; they have not been as badly off at Cambridge as many parts of the country, 'though suffering from alternate cold and flood'. Wallington and Hallington are 'bearing the full brunt'; fears the death of sheep in the hill farms will 'amount to national catastrophe'. He and Janet are planning a short visit to Italy from 22 March to 16 April.
