Pen Rose, Berkhamsted. - Is 'deep in' [Bob's translation of Aeschylus's] "Oresteia"; the sense of being able to trust the scholarship and faithfulness to 'the word and spirit of the Greek' adds much to the 'pleasure of the high and dignified verse'. Thanks Bob for the 'lovely Xmas present and Xmas reading'. Wishes Bob and Bessie could manage to come here for a weekend in February before he goes to Italy, it is a 'long time' since they 'had a talk'.
