On headed notepaper for the Harrow Philathletic Club, with 'The Grove, Harrow' added in Robert Trevelyan's hand:- Everything going well for both Georgie and himself. Is glad that she and his father enjoyed their visit to Wallington; thinks the 'arrangement about the library writing table would suit [him] very well, despite [his] aversion to change'. Hopes they [the Liberal Party] will win the two coming elections [by-elections at Buckingham and Paisley]. The school is not doing well at cricket, and is expected to 'have the worst of it at Lords [against Eton].
Thanks his mother for 'the gulls' eggs and the sossages [sic]; the latter are always accepted'. If any of the gulls' eggs have already been blown, he would like to give 'one or two to the museum'; but it does not matter if there are none and he expects it will be too late.
Not much news; the ground is 'too wet for cricket today'. Charlie says he can only get Robert rooms in Whewell's Court for his first year [at Trinity], but Robert is sure 'they will do very well'. Sends love to his father. Adds a postscript saying that he will need more money soon, but that there is 'no particular hurry'.
