Scope and content
The Shiffolds. - Thanks his mother for her letter and the press cutting. Thinks Tovey's quartets last week were a 'success', though the audience was not large 'because of fog etc'. General agreement that they are 'the finest and most original things he has done'. Is starting for La Croix next Thursday, so is afraid he will not see her before he goes; Bessie is well, and 'Paul nearly so': thinks his ailing recently was not 'much except the lost tooth'.
Is sorry for the shortness of this letter, but has 'so much to do'. Will write soon from La Croix. Is glad his father is well. Hopes to see George in London.
