Scope and content

Welcombe, Stratford on Avon. - Glad that Elizabeth is out of London in this 'troubled time'. Has instructed Drummonds to pay the fifty pounds into Elizabeth's account. Very interesting about Robert and the Louvre. Agrees with what Elizabeth feels about seeing Julian at school: the 'immense evils of private schools' in his own day owed much to the ignorance of parents; boys did not tell their parents anything about school, even in the holidays.
