Scope and content
Wallington, Cambo, Morpeth. - Is looking forward to Elizabeth and Julian's visit next month before she goes on to Scarborough, as she suggests in her letter to Caroline; is sorry that due to old age they cannot manage for the visit to be longer than a week. Caroline is affected in a way that gives him 'the responsibility for the conduct of [their] lives' and is 'proud of being able to help and look after her'. Robert will be welcome for the week or any part of it. Aunt Anna has 'long and lovingly watched' Caroline, and will tell Elizabeth what is wrong.
