Portée et contenu

Wallington, Cambo, Morpeth. - Robert is at a 'delightful address'; his story about the Bourbon flags at Sorrento is very interesting. Glad to have Bessy with them; Julian had his hair cut today, which 'changed him'; he is a 'charming figure in his blue knickerbockers'. Charles is returning to London on 23 October; he is doing a great deal of public speaking at the moment. Hard to remember that at Charles's age he thought this 'hard life... a tolerable, and in some ways a desirable, one'. Mary is giving six lectures on the Borders which Caroline and Elizabeth regularly attend. Is just finishing his account of [Benedict] Arnold and [John] André, which will be the 'central picture' in his book [the last volume of "The American Revolution"].
