18 Mansfield Street, Portland Place, W.—Invites him to lunch, as she has not talked with him since Penrhôs. She enjoyed his party last night. The loan of his motor made the Derby easy to do, but they saw none of the ‘excitements’ (the suffragette Emily Davison had been fatally injured by a horse while making a protest).

Can you come to lunch on Saturday, or, which I would rather, lateish (by that I mean 6 o’clock about) tomorrow. I havent seen you to talk to since Penrhos.

Your party last night was such fun. I did love it so, also your motor made the Derby very easy to do. It was nice of you to lend it, but we saw none of the excitements {1}.
