As well as Richard Farmer's name, that of John Jamieson (1759-1838) also appears in an ownership inscription, with the information that the book was a gift from Richard Heber (1773-1833). A[lbert] Forbes Sieveking's name appears on a page remaining with the book, with the date 9 Dec. 1886.

Removed from a 16th century printed edition of Gower's Confessio Amantis, bequeathed to the Library by A. G. W. Murray in 1919. This was originally given the shelfmark Sel.b.53.4, but is now VI.3.12.
