Refers to 'reprints' of two articles on the subject of ethics recently published by him in the Philosophical Review, and which he sends to Sidgwick 'under separate cover'. Claims that Sidgwick has been, through his writings such as Methods of Ethics, one of his greatest teachers. Informs him that he teaches the course of Theoretical Ethics in Brown University, Rhode Island, and asks Sidgwick to give his critical views on the articles.
