      TRANSCRIPT:

      House of Commons
      April 25th 1912.

      My dear Venetia

Please forgive me if I have been a nuisance in circumstances of which I was not aware till tonight.

Perhaps my importunities, reproaches, lamentations, sighs, exhortations, and whatnots will be taken as a measure of my anxiety for a growing and not a diminishing friendship. And I’ve had no fun this week.

I was honestly apprehensive of a floater or worse still of having become a bore, {1} worse because almost irremediable. I’ll be good now though none the less impatient and come to lunch on Saturday if I can get to town in time.

      Good luck at Littlestone.

I presume Conrad is now quite well. Give him my best love. I dine on Monday with Mrs Mckenna!

      Yrs ever
      Edwin S. Montagu
